A Week in the Life of other box
As I write this, I’m en route to Abu Dhabi to speak at the Indiaspora Forum for Good, where I’ve been invited to discuss social impact and entrepreneurship. I’ll share about the work we’re doing at Other Box, the lessons we’ve learned, and why building equity into the fabric of business is not just necessary but powerful.
This past week has been the perfect example of why I always find it tricky to explain exactly what I do. I wear many hats. Every project might look different but the heart of the work stays the same: Raising awareness, educating with care, and inspiring people to rethink how we Make Work Work For Everyone.
Here’s a little peek into what I’ve been up to this week:
Launched the Pleo Culture Programme
Collaborating with their Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) and ESG teams to inspire fresh working methods, build connections (as a global hybrid / remote team) and conversations around sensitive topics through events and activations that centre joy.
Co-designed a talk on burnout for DialledIndustry Festival
Alongside the incredible Roxi Jahanshahi, we explored how burnout impacts South Asian creatives and how we can begin to heal and create more nourishing working conditions. DialledIndustry is doing amazing work as a nonprofit that is uplifting South Asian voices in the creative industries.
Launched tickets for our first event of the year
Our debut of ‘Uncensored’: A solo exhibition by the brilliant Heleena Theodore SOLD OUT in record time! We’ve added extra slots to allow more of you to experience her powerful work.
Onboarded a new tech client for a DEI audit
This includes a deep dive into their processes, policies, and strategies. Each audit brings new insights, and I’m already excited about the potential impact of this collaboration.
Held an advisory call with a leadership team
We navigated some complex internal challenges together and explored how to handle sensitive situations with clarity, integrity, and care.
Worked with a sales consultant to expand our Jobs Board offering
We’re levelling up the experience and ensuring that every listing includes salary transparency which is a non-negotiable for us when building fair and equitable hiring practices.
Led a coaching call with two emerging leaders
We focused on inclusive leadership, building confidence and navigating workplace dynamics supporting them in stepping into their full potential.

Whew. A busy one. And that’s also being intentional about what projects and clients I take on. It’s been a slow and gentle start to the year, but I’m learning that slow and steady doesn’t just win the race, it’s more sustainable for the long haul.
It’s taken me almost two years (!!!) but i am slowly leaving behind the 1000mph hustle for something more intentional, sustainable and fulfilling. I can’t use a tagline for Other Box of “Make Work Work For You” if I ain’t making it work for myself 🤣
